Natural Gas Vent Silencer are used to control of noise that arises during venting of natural gases.

The silencers are made up of concentric annular acoustic cylinders enclosed with a robust steel casing with one end dished or flat end and the other end open to atmosphere.

The process gas enters the silencer through a diffuser and passes through the annular space between the acoustic packing where the sound energy is absorbed and escapes to the atmosphere. A weather cowl and bird screen is provided at the outlet of the silencer.

A Compressor Discharge Silencer can be rectangular or cylindrical in construction. The circular silencer is made of concentric annular acoustic cylinder enclosed in a robust steel casing with transition cone or dished end at both ends with inlet and outlet nozzles. The silencer casing with inlet and outlet nozzle will be designed as pressure vessel.

The air/ gas enters the silencer and passes through the annular space between the concentric annular acoustic cylinders where the sound energy is absorbed. The straight flow path through annular acoustic cylinder ensures minimum pressure drop. Either steel, galvanized steel or stainless steel is provided for internals based on the customer’s choice.

Fan / Blower Silencer

Both suction and discharge silencers shall be supplied either in circular or rectangular construction for fan/ blower and turbo blowers. The rectangular silencer shall be of absorptive type installed either at suction side or at discharge side of fan/ blower. The internals of the silencer comprises a series of acoustic splitter elements arranged in parallel inside the rectangular steel casing. This would ensure the flow of air/gases through the rectangular air gap between acoustics splitters and thus offering a minimum pressure drop. The leading and trailing edge of the acoustic splitters will be designed aerodynamically to offer minimum resistance to the flow medium.

Due to throttling the pressure from high pressure to low pressure, shock and turbulent wave emanated across the valve orifice releases a very high amount of acoustic energy which is transmitted as fluid borne acoustic energy in the downstream pipeline.

Reactive Silencers are generally used to reduce low frequency noise which are very common in low speed equipments such as, low speed diesel engine, vacuum pump and sometimes twin lobe blowers. In reactive silencers no absorptive material is used. The low frequency noise is nullified by reaction by the process gas inside the silencer. These are generally resonated type or mufti-chamber construction or a combination of both. The general limitations of reactive types is reasonably high pressure drop across the silencer and its unpredictable performance for high frequency noise reduction. We also offer a combination of reactive and absorptive silencers depending on the noise generated to achieve the desired noise level performance

Noise generated from electric motor are mainly due to cooling air movement, bearing noise, magnetic noise due to cyclic variation of magnetic forces. Mounting the Motor Silencers on ventilation intake & outlet opening reduces the noise considerably. Larger capacity motors tend to emanate noise from the casing due to  magnetic forces which may require acoustic hood. Generally Vacuum Pump generates high broadband Noise when the gas is evacuated and discharged to atmosphere. Further if it happens to be 'wet' gas associated with entrapped liquid in the evacuated gas it also poses environment problem.

The noise associated with evacuated gas is reduced through series of expansion chamber and thereby weakening the acoustic energy in the gas. By combining the mufti-chamber reactive silencer with absorptive section and a separator assembly both the noise reduction and the entrapped liquid separation could be achieved in single compact equipment.

The mufti-louver tangential turn vane stainless steel Separator Silencers assembly creates a spiral motion for the gas and the entrapped liquid is separated due to centrifugal motion of the gases. As there are no moving parts in the separator assembly no mechanical wear out of the metal is anticipated.

Hydraulic System Silencers

Hydraulic System Silencers

Due to continuous pumping action of the pumps of various design such as gear pump, vane pump, piston pump, employed in a Hydraulic System Silencers, releases a very high level of noise due to pumping from low pressure to high pressure. This sudden impulsive shock due to high pressure pumping into delivery pipeline generates high noise at fundamental frequency, which is transmitted as fluid borne noise in the discharge pipeline and also mechanical noise transmission to pipe work associated structures. The fundamental frequency generated depends on speed, number of pistons, vanes, gear teeth etc. This fluid borne noise can be attenuated in a mufti-chamber reactive silencer with choke tubes to form a low pass filter. Noise level to the extent of 15 to 20 dB could be reduced in this silencer. The silencer is generally designed as a pressure vessel as per AS-ME SEC VIII DIV I / IS 2825 or as per customers requirements.

The prime requirement of Roots / Twin lobe blower Pulsation Dampers is for both silencing and pulsation dampening or reduction of vibration.

As a pulsation damper collects the peak flow, and delivers it back to the system when the rate of mass transfer decreases, this averaging to a smoothness allows choice of pipe size to be reduce.

Diffuser/Orifice Plates is basically a thin plate with holes. It is usually placed in a pipe in which fluid flows. As fluid flows through the pipe, it has a certain velocity a certain pressure. When the fluid reaches the orifice plate with holes, the fluid is forced to converge to go through the small hole; the point of maximum convergence actually occurs shortly downstream of the physical orifice, at the so-called vena contracts. As it does so, the velocity and the pressure changes. Beyond the vena contracts, the fluid expands and the velocity and pressure change once again
The orifice plates are also available as a tab handled plate that can be located between flanges.

HVAC Duct Silencers

We offer HVAC Duct Silencers, which are normally rectangular in construction for A/C and ventilation ducting. These silencers are offered in standard dimension, which can be readily mounted on the existing duct. The silencers are offered in 500 mm and 750 mm length. Higher performance can be achieved by assembling more than one silencer in series depending on the noise level requirement. The predicted performance and the pressure drop across wide range of flow rates are available on request.
